To be fair 'crocodile shoes' by jimmy nail is one of the best tunes ever committed to vinyl about footwear made of vicious big toothed reptiles ever made.

The only thing that gets near it for me is 'penguin loafers' by cliff richards, which he once sung acapella at wimbledon to an appreciative audience of 12 posh people pretending to watch tennis whilst gorging themselves on strawberries while tara palmer tonkinsons shrieked like an upper crust cocaine huffing pony in the under seating toilets

Showaddy Waddy I used to hate, then they started covering some edgier stuff of which you can only stand back and applaud from a safe distance.

Killing in the name of waddy
God Hates a Waddy
Heaven knows I'm Waddy now
I should be so Waddy
Bitch gotta Waddy
Smack my Waddy up
Waddy gone to heaven
No sleep till Waddy
Lady love your Cunt ( coz it's a Waddy). Amongst others.

Jimmy nail never truly appreciated by anyone, bloody marvellous stuff.

Hasans... Ditto- grew up on the kinks as a nipper, and only realised how fucking brilliant they are as a man in later years

For me one of the most underrated and influential bands in british music history, ray davies a true poet

On the day of my wedding i woke up absolutely wankered and shitting myself about both getting married, and my wifes reaction to me turning up pissed.

At me mums that morning before the wedding i dug out my old mans original kinks vinyl and stuck on 'village green preservation society'. Someone handed me a glass of chomp, i listened to that about 8 times while getting ready and it got me bang up for it. I was ready to die for queen and country and we intended.

At me wedding when they played jerusalem i could hear the kinks calling to me down the years, telling me to fucking get it done, i was english. Village green.

The kinks saved my marriage sir. We are the skyscraper condemnation affiliates

Same as mallard re the smiths. Morrissey is still a massive thundercunt though

When I was about four or five my old man used to play the kinks constantly. I hated it. Listen to them now and I think they piss on everything out there at the time

As a youth i could never fathom why the output of 'The Right Fucking Spastics' was so popular, and forever in the pop charts.

Now though, looking back from the height of age, being honest I can now see the appeal of their debut album 'you some sorta fucking jubilee cunt', from which they lifted their first hit 7 inch 'tit slapping and dog shit batting'.

Memorably, in the video for that first smash single the band were all on stilts playing cricket with lumps of dog shit while the porn starlet linzie dawn mckenzie hopped round them slapping their noses with her giant tits like slightly gone down footballs

I fucking love their stuff now but when i was 12 i thought it was right poxy bollocks

I used to hate any song by The Smiths as a young teenager.

Absolutely love most of their work now
